Higurashi: The little series that could. I know the story in and out by now but this is a day one purchase for certain. Now if we could get a Kai/Rei license that'd be fantastic.

Wait wait wait... 8 games? How many games are there in the series? And how many of those games does the first Higurashi anime cover? I mean, of course I'll still buy them all but I didn't realize it was spread out so much.

Is it just me? Or have people entered a new era in which visual novels are actually being brought to the US?

Whoa, left field much?

If they will be available for purchase from outside the US, count me in.

Why not? Mangagamer has nothing to do with US and their games are purchasable from everywhere.

Looking at the site, the prices are all listed in Euros. So, to answer your remark, yeah, pretty sure it'll be available outside of the US.

It's also going to be expensive, judging by how the existing games are priced... we'll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

Has anyone ever dealt with this company before? How are the translations?

Wow, awesome, did not think that this would happen. Though of the many VN games that have been turned into anime and manga series, this one was perhaps the most likely to get released thanks to a lack of pornographic/erotic content.

Well considering that I already own the original Onikakushi-hen with the -07th Expansion authorized- fan translation. But for Watanagashi-hen, it's a different story...

Translations have been hit or miss.

Edelweiss- One of their launch titles last year, the translation sucked
Da Capo- Translation was well done
Suika- Translation was well done, plenty of translation notes as well
Kira Kira- Not as perfect as Suika/Da Capo, as there were on occasion a few errors, but nothing serious, nothing like Edelweiss. Every once in a while there would be a typo or a grammar error. I would say it was a good translation.
Haven't checked out their other titles.

Somewhat related, I would like to say that in my opinion Kira Kira is my second favorite Visual Novel to officially be released in English, only behind Ever17.

The first season had 6, the second season had 2. Mangagamer said they're planning on releasing them in the standard groups of 4.

Wow, never thought this would be licensed.

I'm definitely, definitely getting this when it comes out.

Kai I believe also licensed. I saw it at their stand at Expo. However, there is no detail on Rei. I hope they might bring over the PS2 Matsuri/Kakera Asobi games since they contain the extended and true endings of the franchise rather than what actually happened in Kai.
