Wow, even airing Eva on Japanese TV can't beat Sazae-san ratings >_> Only anime like Totoro can possibly top it >_>

Can anyone tell me why children's shows are always the highest rated? I'm a little suspect of their rating system.

They're the highest rated cause they have the most viewership. They also air in prime TV slots unlike the majority of anime that gets fansubbed which airs in the early morning (12 am - 3 am mostly)
