I wonder if they're gonna try to license "Lupin III vs Detective Conan."

Also, do you think the "Case Closed" game will ever be released stateside?

Sweet... I was hoping they would announce something at Otakon. Someone asked FUNi about Conan on twitter and they said "@Coolkid1412 Case Closed news coming soon..."

So since they are releasing these movies... does this also mean more TV episodes?

Season Five left off right before Ai appears... and movie three has Ai in it. That's the whole reason I thought they were holding off on the movies anyway... since one of FUNi's translator already listed more than a few Conan movies had been translated for awhile on his site.

Anyway, pretty good. Have the first two sitting on my shelf. Though as single dvds sorta is <___> if they are 20 bucks a piece, there's 80 bucks just for four movies. Will have to see Very Happy

Great. I've been waiting for FUNimation to license more films ever since I bought the first one.

The article says Case Closed: The Fourteenth Target came out in 1999. But didn't that one come out in 98?

I heard that game was sort of "meh", anyway, but you could import it from Europe at least.

I'm really glad Funi is keeping up with Case Closed after it's short lived run on TV.

Actually, a leaked trailer showed the 3rd movie coming to DVD, so we knew about that one for a while. Also, I had heard that FUNi VAs had said they had dubbed at least four movies way prior to this announcement, so I question if they really "licensed" these movies recently as opposed to having the license for a while and finally releasing them. I mean, you can't dub what you don't have a license for, right?

Enough nitpicking though! I'm just glad we're getting more Case Closed! Very Happy

Actually the might be able to if the dubs were commissioned separately from a release license. While I've not heard of Funimation doing that before, I have read that some fans who have seen the dubs through European releases of these films say that the credits of the films don't list Funimation in them. So I think there is a possibility that Funimation dubbed the movies but not as a official Funimation release. No idea how they arranged the dub, though (it'll be interesting to see what the credits read when these films come out) Confused

Swell! Though, is it just me or do some of these movies get ahead of the licensed TV series in regards to what-has-been-revealed and what-characters-are-there? I may hold off on some of them for fear of spoilers and stuff, then. It'll be tough, though!

Movies 4 and 5 are favorites of mine. I love seeing the kids jumping from one building to another with a car in the latter.

I can do without the Western name renamings, though, especially when they obviously take place in Japan. With Mount Fuji being so prominently featured in the fifth movie, I wonder what they'll do.

So excited that the detective work (hah) I did is actually official. Here's to coming that the sales on these movies can lead to season 6 and beyond.

A tidbit that you all might have glossed over - broadcast rights. This could mean Funimation Channel or... Smile
