The thing about the girl making all that money makes sense because Spice and Wolf is about economic trading.

funny how the girl is called Fujioka Smile) this 'Fujioka' is lucky because she got payed for who knows what she did as opposed to 'Fujioka Haruhi' who has to pay for breaking the vase

Wow, now that's some really useful info. Thanks a lot Ctimene's Lover.
But, no. In the surface Spice and Wolf is trading, but the root of the anime is the relationship between Lawrence and Horo.
