I knew Yakuza 3 was going to happen. SEGA doesn't have anything else right now, and the time is right for them, because of how long it'll take before we see FFXIII. Just like in Japan, this is the game which would make me buy a PS3 over a Wii. [I'll consider the 360 when it works. Rolling Eyes ] As for the Sakura Wars dub, it's not bad, if you've listened to enough of them through ADV.

Great, now what do I do with my UMDs, Sony? I'm not about to re-buy games I already have and I'm even less likely to sell my God of War edition PSP just to get the GO. At least they were kind enough to have a decent internal HD for starters, which would indeed make me get Patapon 2 (at long last!!)

Ironic that the titular "monotone princess" refers to someone other than Maka considering the way she speaks. Laughing

I'm not keen on Sony's new idea of download-only games, especially given the price of bandwidth in my country...

How did Sega's PR bungling (and the deluge of big big news that came with it) not get mentioned here?

I watched the Soul Eater anime awhile back thinking it would never arrive to the states. It was a good anime for the most part, but what piss me off the most was the way they ended it. I got the message that they were trying to send but man it was so lame. Last episode almost made me want to do this Joking aside I am interested in getting Sakura Wars I heard a lot of good news about it.

suuuuure non-Japanese titles have nothing to do with Jack Black going bonkers in wacky ways. Not that I blame you, anything that starts with a godawful metal band getting decapitated by the roar of a chrome-hided fire-beast is definitely worth it.

In other news I'll probably be checking out Sakura Wars, if just to see how it can be so long-running in its native country. Plus steam-punk is definitely an underutilized visual aesthetic in video games.

While I have admired your commitment to only reporting on Japanese games up until now, I have to say, I've been reading the column mostly for your witty commentary and usually "snicker"-inducing mouseover comments. The number of games I've bought that you've reviewed is probably less than 10... seems Japan knows how to make strategy-RPGs and fighters (and I'm not keen on either) and sequels to other games I don't care about lately. I look forward to seeing you give domestic games and games from other foreign countries equal time to be torn apart in your reviews. Keep up the good work. Smile

Really glad to hear your no longer ignoring non-Japanese games. Nothing wrong with them, and they should add a nice comparison and contrast.

Yay for more Disgaea! I'm an addict. I am so picking up Sakura Wars when it's released.

I'm totally getting that Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days game. At the very least, it'll be redemption for Chain of Memories. I was surprised by the slightly lower price tag too, but I won't complain.

I'm one of the people (Few? Silent majority? I don't know) who likes Kingdom Hearts pretty much solely for the Disney cameos, so 358/2 Days seems designed to annoy me as a fan of the series.

I really do wonder about all this Soul Eater hype. I'm still seeing more and more artwork of it on DeviantArt. Is it really that good? I mean, not to kill anyone's buzz, but I'm just curious.

On the other hand, I'm getting very tired of Gust's Disgaea craze. Granted I haven't played a single one of the series' games but I'm getting a little sick of seeing so many of these from Gust.

I already have the PSP version of Final Fantasy Tactics, but I bought the original version again for exactly one reason: the slowdown in War of the Lions was so unbelievably bad that it literally ruined the experience for me. Did the Greatest Hits edition of WotL fix this? Is there any way I can? Until I have answers to these I'll be playing the PS1 version, knowing full well that I may "die in obscurity". (Y'know, I never actually thought that particular line was that bad.)
