Nice to know Sengoku Basara is on the list because I love feudal age anime.

Wow. Gintama's really raking in the sales with that Jump Festa release. Nice to see it doing well.

more people should watch Gintama. It's probably (outside of Japan) the most underrated anime out there right now.

I'm glad that the new Gintama OVA is selling so well, even if it was another joke by Sunrise (again).

spoiler[What new OVA?! It's freaking 10 minutes long. Lawlz.]

There is also a 20 minute long episode in there O_O But seriously with sales like these I'm really wondering what the licensor's are doing...

The other episode was the first OVA isn't it?

And I highly doubt anyone would license Gintama. It just has too many Japanese references in it that it would be extremely difficult to dub. =.= And no one can replace Tomokazu Sugita's sexy awesome voice.

I need my Gintama license, NOW~!!

Of course no one can top Tomokazu Sugita, but that's not the point. Just because a series is licensed doesn't mean it has to be dubbed. And just because it's dubbed, doesn't mean you have to watch the dub. The question is would it make more money if they sold it with a costly dub, or if less people bought it because it didn't have a dub.

In any case I desperately need Gintama DVDs. If only the fansubs would use soft subs, then I could just buy the Japanese DVDs.

I can see what you're saying about how a lot of people might not "get" the jokes in Gintama. At this point, it's basically like the Japanese version of The Simpsons. But the English manga is doing fine and they do a fine job of translating it. In my opinion, the subs on CrunchyRoll are giving a little too much information. Those kind of cultural notes belong in the extras of a DVD.

I'd definetely buy the DVDs if it was licensed. Unfortunately not many people know about Gintama so licensing it is probably not even considered. DX

I've actually seen a group that subbed and sold it in DVD cases although I believe it was illegal. But it would be nice to have subtitles like Rumbel's work if there ever is a DVD in the future.

I'm very happy Gintama is still doing well on the DVD sales.

If only they would license it, and instead of doing dubs, just do it in subs. I'd spend all my money in the world to buy all the Gintama DVDs, lol.
