Did you happen to go to Pixiv Market? I was there and the artists mostly sold original color illustration books, which was exactly what I was looking for.

Awesome article, Evan. This event looks much more personable and interesting to me than the Comiket/fan-art type stuff. It's also really cool that they were promoting some North American artists there as well. I'm curious how Japanese fans would receive their works. I'd love a translated copy of that Guide Book to True Japanese Culture!! >.<

Nice, on ANN. I've been forever curious above these japanese comicons for ages now. Also nice to see some western artist getting exposure.

There's still a long way to go, for U.S publishers to go and give this kind of service to upcoming artists, without going crazy. I hope some day they'll get to this level.

Comitia had a few groups that I'm accustomed to not seeing at events like these: families, walking around the show floor with children of all ages.

lol

we do have things like this in US and Canada only thing is that for some reason, they really dont like manga style or 'traditional' american comics works.

I would have gone, but I couldnt sum up the money for it.
