Fafner season 2??? Laughing

I can't wait! I didn't think it was possible considering the ending and the fact that it ended years ago. But I guess anything is possible!

Best news in a while. We need more good series next year. However, it really seems like Sunrise is milking their good franchises lately by producing "sequels"

Why on earth would they bring back the Fafner franchise? Is there some huge latent demand for sequels to five year old anime that nobody particularly cared about even when they were new? Not to say it's a bad show. It's just, by and large the consensus seems to be that it was a largely unmemorable and pretty generic title that nobody ever felt that strongly about and barely anyone remembers at this point. I mean, I'm glad for anyone who actually did feel strongly about the series. It just seems like a pretty odd choice for a revival.

It's a Xebec show, not Sunrise. And as one of those people who remembers and feels strongly about the series, I'll certainly be happy with whatever new content that does come out.

I sweat to god, I don't think I can watch this anime because of their faces alone, it would bring up too much rage. That's why Stargazer is the only acceptable thing from CE.

I know Destiny sucks but at least it entertain a trainwreck to watch for. But the only thing I'm looking forward to is the return of Mai HiME, in blu-ray and sequel from the original Mai HiME will come soon.

I didn't think this would get any kind of further works, I'm kind of surprised. I'd watch it I guess, since I've seen the first series and the OVA.

I did enjoy Fafner a lot, one of the better Eva clones with an engrossing story, uncommon Mech design and something that Eva never gave us IMHO an all out battle with a satisfying ending although I'm not a fan of Hirai's character designs.

Cool! I really enjoyed Fafner, I even bought the novelization. I'll be glad to see more.

As much as I'm glad some mech anime news, I will admit that I have no idea how Hirai keeps getting work..

Didn't really enjoy the first one. I can't even remember the ending. All I remember is that its a series about people in almost every episode that had to die and horribly. And that there could be no season two with any of the characters because of the way it ended.

not true. season 1 had survivors and 1 impending "birth". one character vowed to come back also.
