This seems rather interesting. The designs look a bit like Miyazaki a little.

It sounds kind of dull to me but the company has mad some good series so I'll definately give it a chance.

Because Miyazaki draws in the World Masterpiece Theater style, since he animated there for several years.

I never realized that there was a whole style of animation solely for these types of films. Now that explains it. This looks interesting. But there are so many other features that came out in the past that you just don't hear about anymore.

Well, nothing like little boys sitting on broomsticks and flying away with girls their age. In a way it reminds me of 'Kiki' a bit.

Sweet, I'm actually looking forward to this. I loved Miyazaki's Kiki's Delivery Service, so I'm sure I'll enjoy this.

Given that R and L are the same letter in Japan, I think they might be treading on iffy legal ground by calling the main character "Harey"/"Haley" and giving him brown hair, a magic broom and googles..... I imagine it all depends on how they end up presenting the final material in a way that makes it clear it's not Harry Potter (the science angle should help), but wow, pretty surprised to see that 0_o

lol wow. It sounds nothing like Harry Potter. If I see a scar on his forehead maybe they will have a case.

Anyways this sounds like it would be better for a movie, but will see how it goes.

There's nothing unusual about an in-house style. I mean, look at K-On and SoRa No WoTo. Laughing

But yeah, after Miyazaki left the studio he still drew like that. Well actually I think a lot of the characters were designed by a different artist. Like most of Puss in Boots and the Lupin character designs were by Yasuko Otsuka, I think.

Dog of Flanders from the 70's...

Anne of Green Gables (Miyazaki wrote a few episodes)

Castle of Cagliostro

Lost Magic DS

etc,etc...

I see what you mean. And I actually thought about it with 'K-On!' and 'SoRa No WoTo'. Laughing I had to actually check if they were by the same studio or designed by the same person. Don't forget 'Kannagi' as well. I am sort of familiar with "in house" style but I guess I never gave it much more than a glance. Or you notice it but never really think much more into it. Again 'Disney' has their own house style. Didn't know 'Miyazaki' worked for these studios. But I can see the influence. Though his work has slight differences. And he's never changed it any more than it is now. I've seen a few games that Ghibli has been involved in. 'The Another World' aka 'Ninokuni'. Even the 'Devilman' OVAs use a house style very reminiscent of the now 'Ghibli'. If you check the 2nd OVA it mentions a 'Studio Totoro'. Yet I don't know how much they were involved. Since 'Oh! Productions' has worked on a majority of films in the 'World Masterpiece' style and later 'Ghibli'.

Perhaps this is oversimplistic, but it's odd they don't mention Kiki's delivery service when that also involves broom-riding.

I'd say Strike Witches too but there's no brooms except in the logo.
