All those bands, and yet the original Beck isn't on there? What gives?

I adored those 12 volumes to pieces.

Has anyone else picked up the license and is due to resume publishing - and presumably re-print 1-12?

Did it really sell that badly?

That's because the series has absolutely no relation to the singer Beck, other than the common name. Musically and aesthetically RHCP (the most potent), Oasis and Rage Against the Machine are major influences, as Sakuishi has himself stated.

I thought Oasis brokeup?
Anyway this is quite neat, both music styles fit the series well.

"Don't Look Back in Anger" is one of Oasis's most famous songs, so of course this isn't new, but I suppose ANN would never know/note that, given their rather hilarious editing style. What am I doing on here educating the clueless masses here anyway, not like I ever liked this site.

Oasis stopped fighting long enough to do something together? I am amazed.

Oasis and Red Hot Chili Peppers aren't "doing" anything for this movie. The filmmakers are using two old (both over 10 years old) songs of these bands as theme songs. This article is ridiculously misleading.

Sorry, the 54-character limit on the headline and Red Hot Chili Peppers' long name meant that there was only room for a two-letter verb in the title. However, we made sure that the article itself clarified that they are only providing songs, not singing new songs from scratch.

wait, do you mean Jeff Beck? If so, oh man that would be legendary indeed. (but Jeff hardly sings though he's capable)

"Oasis, Chili Peppers Songs to Be Beck Film's Themes" would be better. Also, I don't think it is made clear at all that these are not new songs. Two posters in this thread have already misunderstood.

Both great songs, "Easily" from RHCP would maybe fit better, though.
Will def be checking this movie out in the future. Arrow

And in an ironic twist, the US versions will not have said film themes due to licensing problems.

"Girls on Film" from Speed Grapher anyone?

Whereas Koyuki was the protagonist of the original manga, the film will focus on Ryusuke.

Not sure about that aspect. What I loved about Beck was the realistic approach that was taken towards garage bands. I could relate to Koyuki and what the band went through. Ryusuke's story leans more towards fantasy. Does this mean that there won't be any skinny-dipping in the school pool? Wink
