Great series here, worth checking out. And by the way, Gori was adopted.

the anime itself is fine, but just who is the biggest dumbass at ANN who thought of (and wrote) this lead-in:

The series that made basketball popular all across Asia is now streaming in its entirety!

That would be me. Admittedly, not my finest moment.

Edit: There, I fixed it. Less douchey?

Haha, ironically I just popped in here to mention that Slam Dunk has far more mainstream appeal in Asia than just with "anime nerds".

I grew up between the US, Thailand, Taiwan and China from the 80s to the present. I can tell you without a doubt that Slam Dunk is hugely responsible for the popularity of basketball and the NBA all throughout Asia. I have friends from Singapore, Indonesia, Japan and Malaysia that can back me up on this. Basketball was already an international sport when Slam Dunk was first published, but Slam Dunk made it very personally meaningful to a new generation. Slam Dunk has done at least as much to promote basketball in Asia as local leagues and the overseas marketing budget of the NBA.

Seriously, please change that blurb back to the original statement. It's much more accurate (and not at all douchey).

I was always curious about that short lived dub of Slam Dunk. Would it be too much to ask Toei USA if they still have it? It's not like they're using it for anything right now...

I second this request but most specifically for Air Master.
