Don't they only have like the first 50 or so episodes of the TV series?

If those episodes don't sell well then there's no way they'll pick up more of the series and the movie.

EDIT: For anyone who saw the movie, do they actually use new animation or is it a simple composite movie?

^From the trailer, it looks like it's new animation. Those extras really sound good, though. But 15th December sure is a long time...

I read that it's all new animation, voices, and soundtrack, with some new scenes as well. I can't wait to see if I can get this on DVD!

They've only released the first two volumes--26 episodes so far. No word about the third volume yet, which should be out by now so I'm worried about the fate of this and a couple other long running shows they've picked up, like Eyeshield 21 and Glass Mask (severely delayed).

If it's because of sales, then it's also a catch-22/chicken-egg issue, since I hold off buying long shows for this reason.

well hopefully if we don't get a license here it will be released on blu ray with subs so we can import it. That would be an instant buy for me, especially with the extras.
