At first I thought this was stupid, but then I remembered this one of those stop-reset shows, so it's actually kind of neat.

Apparently for once the ANN content advisory category is actually appropriate?

I think it's retarded.
I wouldn't buy anything though so I don't really care.

I'm confused...Excluding the "repeat/alternative" episodes, I count 13 for the Blu-Ray (4+2+3+4) and 12 for the DVD.

Am I missing something here?

This actually makes sense. You can only buy the girls you are interested in.

Most likely one of the 'four other' episodes mentioned for vol 4 is a repeat. Alternatively there could be a BD-only episode, wouldn't be the first time.

I think this is a clever approach given that the plot for each arc basically begins at episode 2. Each disc is an entire self-contained story.

It's likely to be 4+2+3+3 because every arc needs that first episode as base.

This interesting DVD episode order makes sense, if only they don't charge full price for buying same episodes, like Endless Eight.

BD order, the dvds are still normal.

Endless Eight is still 8 different episodes, be it with very similar plot. Haruhi does have a cheap BD boxset release though (costs as much as the BDs for this, but for both seasons, and much less than its 14 dvd singles)

It will be fairly cheap, as it's only 4 volumes for the series, not 6. Do seem to be very slightly more expensive that normal (9k jpy) for the BDs, your not noticably paying extra for the repete eps.

Endless Eight was TORTURE. Clever, yes, but it got OLD after the first three or so. Especially when you haven't realized there's actually eight of them and keep expecting this one to be the last.

Wow, first time I've heard of anime episode being out of order on disc (in Japan). That's a new one to me.

this is like animating a visual novel with different outcome if an event has happened differently. neat, kind of like the bonus episodes in Clannad. I was really surprised at the very end of episode four thou, the explicitness I think is bit much~
