That sounds ridiculously awesome, if I lived near D.C. I'd definitely be there. I'm sure Kon-sensei's bereaved family would be proud to hear his works are showing in the Smithsonian like this.

Damn, I'm going to have to make sure that I'm in that particular area on Saturday! Shocked Anime dazed Cool Anime catgrin Anime smile Very Happy Mr. Green (and the Cherry Blossom Festival is around the corner as well.....)

The Freer Gallery at the Smithsonian shows a lot of awesome anime related stuff. A few years ago they had the east coast premier of Paprika along with a showing of Tokyo Godfathers and actually had Satoshi Kon there. When I still lived in Fairfax, VA they had like a whole month devoted to Tezuka where they showed all sorts of his works like Unico and Marine Express.

Being close to the Smithsonian was one of the better perks of living in Fairfax.
