Well, this should prove interesting. Hopefully they'll take the Crunchyroll approach to this series, because that was squidtastic. But it will still be hell of awkward to hear it spoken in English.

I kind of wish Media Blasters would get on the season set bandwagon already, but 6 episodes for $25 is a pretty fair deal.

I was surprised about this when I found out last night because Squid Girl doesn't seem like a Media Blasters title. Most of their stuff seems to be ecchi like Ikki Tousen, Queen's Blade, Kanokon, etc. or action like Immortal Blade. Still, very happy to have this fun little comedy licensed. I'm not crazy about splitting a one cours show in half, either, but MB is claiming that a QB2 complete collection will be coming out in September, which is only a few months after the second part of that series comes out. Assuming that proves to be true and assuming Squid Girl is on the same quick turnaround timeline, I won't complain too much.

I actually like the 6-episode releases of one cour shows; it's much easier for my wallet to digest. Plus, EXTRAS and a DUB! Hurrah. Totally worth it.

This will be a complete blind-buy for me. It'll also be the first comedy(!) to go on my shelf, disregarding than the "comedic(?)" Welcome to the NHK... Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei would've been the first, but I'm not getting into that. Hooray Media Blasters!(?)

I'll be purchasing this upon release (pre-order, if it's offered), which is something I rarely do. I have to find the series worthy to be purchased with this squidick honor.

They stopped releasing singles after Kanokon and now they are releasing their newer shows in sets which started with Queen's Blade 2.

Awesome news. I really hope the dub doesn't suck(pretty much all of their recent dubs have) this was a show I was expecting Sentai to pick up and I'm pretty shocked that it's media blasters who grabbed it. Either way it's good news. Can't wait.

Looking at the price I gotta say I'm wondering how Media Blasters is making money on this. The MSRP is only 24 bucks and that means places like Rightstuf and amazon are gonna sell it at about 20 or less.

Yippee! After that zombie crap and something about wingless, this news makes up for a LOT! Have to imagine how the dub will turn out. I sincerely hope someone there knows how to pronounce Eyjafjallajokull.

Interesting... I'd like to see whether this release will be successful in the US. I liked the premise of the series but the jokes got old fast.

You do know that Sentai releases more episodes in a set than Media Blasters is doing here right?
