Well, maybe if that guy who directed Goemon is attached, it might work.

Didn't even know there was gonna be a live action film. Very interesting. I'd love to see who the Saito and Hiko actors will be.

Wow. I wonder how the style of the manga/animé is going to translate to live-action. Presumably they'll dial things back a bit, no characters going invisible because they're moving so fast.

All I care about is the new anime. The live action can die for all I care.

Wow. Why is RK such a hot title again? It just seems so random for a 15 year old show to get a new anime, remastered OVAs, and now an LA series. They'll probably announce a remastered TV series soon.

I did not at all expect this.

I doubt it will be very good, but being a Japanese live-action adaptation rather than an American one will bring upon me less personal shame. Or something.

Sato Takeru! I love his work and have to agree with Watsuki that his stature is very suited for Kenshin. I hope he'll be in the drama as well.

How so? Period shows and movies are huge over in Japan. The Taiga Drama franchise has made one new 49-50 episode show with hour long episodes every year since 1963, these shows are all based on historical figures from Japan's past and a lot of them have to do with the Jidageki and Meiji era. These shows tend to be very well done and some of the most expensive in Japanese history. Japan's love affair for its own history is probably one of the reasons Kenshin was so popular.

Of course I doubt a TV series based on it would be part of the Taiga Drama shows, but it would still be something I'm sure a lot of care would be put into. With a few good stuntmen, a Kenshin show could come out looking pretty great.

Yes! Thanks God it was not by the same guys who did Dragon Ball Evolution that actually looked more the child from Star Wars and Spiderman rather than Dragon Ball Laughing

Hard to say. On the one hand you have invisible=cheaper, and on the other you would have a lost opportunity to have a scene in bullet-time from the fast attacker's point of view.

I can't wait to see this! Kenshin was always one of my favorite series, both as an anime and manga. If it's done as well as the Death Note live actions were, this should be awesome. <3

Rurouni Kenshin isn't that kind of series. If there were ever a director for this, it would be the brilliant Yoji Yamada. No one alive can helm a samurai film better than he can.
