Summer season starts this weekend and this is the closest they've come to making an announcement. What's taking so long? Are they waiting to lay it all down at AX this weekend?

They always take up until the day before the series begins, typically. Its just they are better at preventing leaks this time

Considering the new season is starting right around AX time, I'm not at all surprised. We'll probably get several streams announced there. I hope both of the Noitamina series get picked up this season. Ano Hana not getting streamed this past season was a huge screwup, especially considering Funi is supposedly in tight with the Noitamina people. The reviews on that series were really good. I would've gladly budgeted time to stream it every week, especially considering the alternative was a bunch of trolling jokesubbers.

For the Spring season they spent over a week announcing titles. A few were officially announced the day before, but most were announced around a week early, some as many as two weeks. This season feels like a slow start. They haven't even announced when to expect the announcements yet.

Are you sure you aren't thinking about the leaks that came onto ANN? Everyone knew what was coming a few weeks early because of those leaks. They just haven't allowed any leaks until this Usagi Drop one for the summer.

Nope, I'm talking about official press releases, here are a few examples from the Spring season:

Nichijou - Announced 3/29, simulcast 4/2
Gintama season 2 - Announced 3/28, Simulcast 4/4
Deadman Wonderland - Announced 3/30, Simulcast 4/17
Sket Dance - Announced 3/30, Simulcast 4/7

They should have been announcing titles this past week for the Summer season.

Hmm, Funi is holding a noitaminA panel and they're supposed to make a special announcement so I wonder if that means they'll stream No 6 . In any case, wohoo! So now two of the shows I wanted to watch/try out this summer have simulcasts, makes me a happy camper.

I am definitely glad to see this streaming. But even though I feel like Noitamina shows being streamed should be a given by this point I am majorly confused and let down by Ano Hana which was similarly "pre-leaked"(I guess) and never streamed, though crunchyroll has a page for it and everything:
http://www.crunchyroll.com/ano-hana

Though I am happy these shows can get a wider release on CrunchyRoll then if they were on FUNimation, I wonder why FUNi is only picking up the action Noitamina and not the "drama" stuff. After Princess Jellyfish they have left all the drama stuff to CrunchyRoll.

Good stuff. This was one of the two titles I was really anticipating this season.

Hmm, maybe you're right and I remembered it wrong. With that said, its easy to tell they're just waiting for their AX panel tomorrow morning. What better time to announce those shows?

I saw this yesterday. I wondered what was going on (I'm not interested in this anime.), and there was nothing on ANN or Crunchyroll about it (Didn't check their forums, but I'm betting there was talk about it.).

Crunchyroll has streamed other Noitamina titles and hopefully they will also get No.6. I'd also expect CR to get most all of the TV Tokyo titles too given their close relationship (Dantalian, Kamisama Dolls, Yuru Yuri, and maybe Baka2 but that seem to be a Funi title).

Not all that surprised we didn't get any Summer announcements before hand, like we got for Spring. I think the earthquake delaying Spring added to the lead-up, plus with AX right at the start of the season - I expect all the announcements or "deals" will be made during it.

Plus NicoNico.com is a new competitor with 6 titles already announced. I wonder if they'll be just a new player or if the Japanese shows will side more with a Japanese site more readily (or if they can offer more).
