This was one of the better volumes. I really loved seeing Mirajane release her powers,

The fanservice is not quite as bad as say Oh! Great, but it is annoying nonetheless. It would be nice if they provided more eyecandy of the males, but its shounen so what do you expect.

I really enjoyed seeing Mirajane fight after being intrigued by what has been described in earlier volumes. I enjoy Fairytail alot so I don't like to be too negative towards it, but giving the story and art an A rating is way too high. i would say that the story and art both deserve about a C+, maybe a B- at a push if you were a massive fan. As I say, this is not a negative towards Fairytail, there is just way to many better manga series out there.

I'd say from this point onwards, the fanservice only becomes more apparent throughout the series.

Agree on art -- especially since the style has nothing to do with actual Mashima's art, which it totally differnt. It is just a trick from competitive publisher who envies One Piece (coming from 1970s, its art is not truly original either, by it was Oda who made this art style popular from late 1990 to nowadays).

The only way for Mashima to include more male fanservice would be if it was a yaoi porno. Having read a few shoujo I can safely say that they don't have a character whose standard look is shirtless to show off his muscular body.

About fanservice, I was surprised already considering the female characters' skimpy outfits. I don't how there could male fanservice considering most of them appear halfnaked most of the time. Kind of reminds me of Final Fantasy X-2.

Anyway, while I like Fairy Tail, I think enjoyed more Rave Master even though the story was kind of cliche.

How is Grey's gimmick of striping naked and Natsu being shirtless alot not enough for you girls? You can only do so much in a shounen.

You know, I'm a girl, and I've never found the female-directed fanservice in Fairy Tail to be insufficient. I think it's one of the more even-handed of the major shounen series...I mean, okay, it's obvious the male-directed fanservice is drawn more lovingly, but it's written by a guy for guys, so I can live with that.

If I ever need some shounen where it's more directed to girls than guys, I'll read KHR.

Art should be F for copying off One Piece.
