I remember reading Pokemon Adventures some years ago, and I enjoyed it. Not only the characters were appealing and the story violent, but it was amazing how the author could connect almost every single story arc that is based on the Pokemon games starting "Red, Green and Blue," "Yellow, Gold and Crystal", "Ruby and Sapphire", "Firered and Leafgreen" and "Emerald". I finished in Emerald, so I don't know too much about the following ones. Is there a Heartgold and Silversoul storyline?

I only read Red and Blue, and Yellow, but I found those to be pretty exceptional, regardless of the viewers age.

I read them and recommend them and have been enjoying them for years since they first started, along with the anime. Though I don't like the altered English versions to say the least. Edited manga is a no go for me, so I stick with uncut scans which don't change anything.

Absolutely.  I reviewed it as a kids' series because that's how Viz is marketing it, but there's no reason why the young at heart shouldn't enjoy this just as much as the young at age. (Which makes me feel a little better about the insane fondness I've developed for Monster High...)

ahhhhh. you cannot be susprised the english versions were edited. COULD YOU IMAGINE THE OUTCRAY FROM PARENTAL ADVOCATES IF THEY DID??? It's the same for the anime series, ESPECIALLY the beginning of the series and for some episodes which are known as " the infamous banned epsiodes " ( And I fear the Team Rocket Vs Team Plasma Epsiodes will be next,no thanks to the Earthquake & Tsunami ) Like it or not, alongs as gamefreak & the big N owns the franchise, they'll always edit both the anime and manga version when they come to the US to keep it's child like reputation intact, which unfortunately gives the rise too fansubs, as well as illegal streaming and scanlations of the franchise, which in itself hurts the franchise. |
