I know it's too early, but I bet Funimation will go for this seeing how the series did well enough here.

all I can say is...
SWEET!!! This is the series that I really didn't expect much from and initially overlooked/ignored. Eventually I got around to seeing the first ep. or two on VoD. After that I was hooked. It's not the kind of stuff I normally recommend to people, but it's such a good natured (despite all the fighting) series that I can't help but to have a larger grin on my face at the end of an episode than I did at the beginning. |

Good to see it's getting more. I just hope that it picks up at some type of logical point and doesn't just randomly start halfway into an existing manga storyline and confuse people who don't read the manga....because I just watched an OVA that did that.

It's great to hear that there's more since the TV series just left you hanging. I think though like Kruszer mentioned, since there's been a lot of manga out from the time of the TV I assume, that the OVA will cover some other arc instead of picking up where the TV series left off

Yea, Kenichi! I always enjoyed the manga though its been a couple years since I last read it and the show is just fun. I hope they up the visual quality a bit more tho. I'm curious what they will do about the story as the manga tended to have long arcs and I wonder how well it will fit into an OVA and how long will the OVA be?

ANYTHING more Kenichi is a good thing! Btw to anyone that wants a Funi dub that makes you laugh and has some decent acting watch the dub of Kenichi. My friends and I actually loved the dub so much that we waited 8 whole months between box sets coming out to watch new episodes of the show (normally we would get impatient and watch subbed eps for a series this good if the official release wasn't all out). IT'S that GOOD 
I am catching up in the manga, but they are up to I think chapter 400 something as of this post and the anime stopped at around 180 ish. Here's hoping they don't pull an Air Gear. |

It isn't a second series but I'll take it! Maybe this can springboard into a whole new TV series? One can hope, right? This show is amazing. It's the only anime I've ever been able to watch multiple times in short succession without it getting boring. |

sweet, now all i need is someone to pick up the manga. Loved the anime reccomended it to a mate of mine and he liked it too so i'll have a watch of the OAV but if someone pick up the manga they'll have themselves a customer here.

The English packaging for the anime rendered the title with a capital "I" in the middle of the name (KenIchi). |
