I'd already heard that Sushio left GAINAX for Trigger, which was to be expected, but it's interesting to hear that Shibata also followed Imaishi and company. I'll be looking forward to seeing the key animation list for this one to get more of an idea of who's part of this new company.

Can't wait!! I'm excited to see who's on board for Studio Trigger and what sort of stuff they can make.

Idolm@ster is a popular and high-profile franchise; producing a great and memorable episode for a popular show, showing the world what Trigger is made of, is the best thing they can do right now.

They're a new studio. They have to pay their dues first and pay the bills, sell their souls if they have to. Then they can rise up in the ranks and then and only then they get to pick among the cream of the crop. Laughing

I'm pretty sure they were more than willing to help out on Idolm@ster to help start up their studio since Atsushi Nishigori, a buddy of theirs from GAINAX, is the director. Nishigori is probably going to join Studio Trigger once he's done with this show.

I think they choose to do their first outsourcing job on Idolm@ster due to their connection with director Nishigori; this isn't a "this is the only job we could get"-type of deal, working with Nishigori probably gives them more freedom

Glad to see their new studio getting work and they're getting paid... that's what matters. Given Gainax's past who knows how they were being compensated there.

Not really into the franchise but I'm happy for Trigger! Hopefully they can show off their skills and make money before creating original works of their own :3

I dropped Idolmaster at 5 episodes, but I'll watch this episode.
