A shame it's based on the OAV, I would have liked a different approach like all the franchise has been as of now. Also...Ordet? I sincerely hope the director isn't who I think.

I can't say i'm too into the CGI.... And I personally prefer the character designs from before over these (Especially DM's).... (though, I wasn't too fond of Blood-C's character designs either but I slowly warmed up to em')
Still, I'm looking forward to this. I really liked the OVAs (save for the lack of plot-Like the whole BRS and DM relationship. Because surely there was more to it there than just the relationship between Yomi and Mato... there has to be. Please let there be in this  . I gotta know more!)
I just hope it doesn't suck. Had I not watched the OVA's, I doubt that trailer would have sold me. And only 8 eps? Really? And by based, do you mean continuation? spoiler[Because i'm pretty sure DM died in the OVA in some sort of fashion.] I would have liked to see a prequel of some sort, or maybe just a whole new retelling but, meh, I'll take whatever. |

I said "based" since it looks like it's using the OAV's premise. I.e. It'll likely be a retelling, or at least I hope so. I didn't like the original at all (all the jump cuts it used irritated me). Personally in an ideal world I would have liked an animated version set in the game story, huke created some creepy and odd characters for the game. Also the story made more sense, despite being on the same level as the animated version as far as complexity goes.

Uh-oh, I see young girls holding hands in that image. I hated the girl/girl romance aspect of the OVA, I thought it dragged the (already mediocre) OVA down even more, and was really hoping they wouldn't go back to that for the TV series...

I came away pretty underwhelmed. I'm not digging the character designs and the cheap cg. Then again it is just a trailer so we'll see I suppose.

I'm definitely looking forward to this, the whole parallel world/alter ego plot with a mix of light hearted drama and a sci-fi story B, I really enjoyed the OVA. It wasn't anything amazing, but it was still entertaining.
Glad to see they're expanding on the OVA plot. Interested to see how they might give some change up to the lead characters. And DM's new design makes her less 'predictably' sinister and gives her a more creepy 'docile' evil appearance. Because nothing is as terrifying as something rather sweet and innocent looking being incredibly hostile and deranged. Granted, I'm looking too in depth, just spouting off here. |

I wasn't particularly fond of the OVA so I'm not too pleased to see the series based on it. Could still turn out decent I suppose.

....probably because it didn't pander enough. Won't bother watching Black Rock Shooter. Mostly because I have a problem with an animated, 8 episode advertisement for a video game appearing in the NoitaminA block.
