So thrilled about this, Off*Beat was one of the best comics to come from Tokyopop's global manga initiative. Smile

What about Jpop idol? I know they released it in Japan, but I can't get the Japanese volumes so easily...

Edit: If people don't know, Jpop Idol, also known as Eyes on Me, was a series written by a Tokyopop author, drawn by a Japanese mangaka as her debut work, and only released by Tokyopop (although it was first released in Japan).

Agreed. I'm not a fan of OEL because they tended to be terribly made but Off*Beat proved me wrong. I hope her publishing plans go through--I plan to buy it.

Hells yeah! This was the only OEL I've read, I'm thrilled to hear that it will finally be concluded! I'm so gonna buy my own copy to go with the first two volumes! Very Happy

Agreed!

I actually squealed when I saw the header for this article. Scared the daylights outta my ma. Anime hyper

I bought vol. 1 of Off*Beat when it first came out but then couldn't find vol. 2, but now I'll absolutely track it down so I can complete this amazing little OEL series. I kept up positive affirmations nearly all of last year that its 3rd vol. would be released, someway, somehow, but after hearing of TP's shutdown I lost hope. Now I could weep with joy. My faith in this has been restored (I'm sure it sounds silly and over-dramatic but it really means a ton to me at this stage in my life).

Now if Tokyopop announces the completion of My Cat Loki I will officially hit the effing ceiling. Hold fast, my heart, hold fast.

Don't get your hopes up; they did. TP gave up on Off*Beat awhile before they shut down. I took this article to mean that the author had found a new publisher.

Of course, Hetalia will eventually be re-licensed. It's only a matter of time.

Holy crap, thank you people above for mentioning how awesome this was. I looked into this series via my local library, and I literally just finished reading the two volumes...I'm in love! I want to track down copies of this for myself, and I will 100% buy the third volume if it does come out in 2012!!

If only the same could be said for Future Diary and Initial D.

I wouldn't be surprised if Yen picked up Future Diary, especially with the fact the anime is airing now. It seems like their sort of thing. Initial D on the other hand, I think scares publishers because of how long it is...
