I am really proud of how far Blue Exorcist has gone Smile. The anime for me did collapse a bit in the end but I still enjoyed it...as because I am someone who is easily impressed x-x.

And as always I'm forever proud of Fairy Tail. Even though THIS year it sold a million copies LESS than last year =o.

The difference between One Piece and Naruto in terms of sales is just...wow. WOW. Shocked

On another note, is Bleach still considered one of the top three shonen manga anymore? Because it's just been dropping.

Rambley thoughts on the list, for people to skip over:
One Piece, I've said before how much I love this series, and damn ghis thing is a juggernaut. Here's hoping to another 60 volumes.
Naruto, I hear it's winding down (well up) to the big finale, I've read all of 8 manga volumes, but know enough of whats going on. Kinda curious how it's going to end, and if it pays off any of the major storylines. (I doubt it.)
Blue Exorcist, I can't get into series, it's just to “Basic Shonen Jump” flavor to me, and I guess I'm kinda particular about how I like my Christian mythology portrayed.
Fairy Tail, When did you get so popular?
Toriko, I'm actually really digging this series and it's silly premises. And the modern redux of the old art style.
Gintama, Kinda want to give this manga a try at some point.
Bakuman, I don't know, I liked Death Note, and the premise sounds interesting, but it's so damn smarmy that I kind of want to hate it out of spite. And I hear it still has some issues with sexism.
Bleach, I just like how I can read “GOD IS DEAD” from the tiny picture to the side.

Shingeki no Kyojin, first title on the list I don't recognize.
Hunter X Hunter, was there like one volume that came out in the past year? Wonder how well it's dealing with its erratic schedule.
Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan, been seeing it get good reviews, might want to give the first volume or so a try.
Beelzebub, I wish a series with such an awesome title was more interesting.
Saint Yong Men, this is NEVER coming out over here, and I wish the scanlator would pick it back up. All we have is like up to volume 2.
Giant Killing, Had an odd moment where I confused it with this American comic “I Kill Giants”.
Detective Conan, I kinda hope this is going to run for another 20 years. Just because.

Fullmetal Alchemist, Last volume comes out in December over here! YAY!
Black Butler, I wonder if proportionally to like the size of the audience buying if this series is more popular over here.
Kekkashi, I've picked up the Viz 3-in-1s for this, and hey it's pretty good. Also my library has up to like 25 of the viz publications, awesome.
Soul Eater, Yen is staying pretty behind on this series since volume 7 only just came out, though I have a theory they just wait to publish a volume so they can publish the same volume number of Black Butler, because those series spine designs are like mirrors, and they look so pretty next to each other on my bookshelf.
Medaka Box, my friend keeps recommending this series, but I am suspicious.
Hajime no Ippo, I'm curious how a sports series keeps up the momentum after 97 volumes, but I guess it does.
Prince of Tennis, Oh god, it's you. The sports series that never really had any momentum to begin with.
Real, only series ANN doesn't' have a page for. I guess no one likes you.

seriously. it's getting pretty dang good sales if it made it to number 3 like that, especially when you consider out of the top 5 it's the only monthly title and thus gets less volumes released per year because of that.

The Bleach/Fairy Tail thing comparison is tricky. In Top-Selling Manga in Japan by Volume: 2011, all of Bleach volumes are above Fairy Tail's. Is that Shueisha releases less volumes per year than Kodansha?

Bleach started a new story arc and the ending from the series has yet to be seen. Apparently, Naruto is reaching its climax and as far as I have seen, it's getting pretty awesome. Katekyo Hitman Reborn continues showing story arcs that I thought would be the series' finale (Future, Tsuna apparently accepting his title before facing the Shimon Family, and now it's reuniting every most members from the cast) but I'm still unsure. Hunter x Hunter finally lost its title Hiatus x Hiatus, but I still don't see a final arc coming. One Piece started a "Part II" and the author commented the series has a long way before ending. Wonder if the same is happening to Case Closed?

I didn't know TWGOK was beating out both Hayate and Negima sales wise. It always seemed like it was behind Hayate, but I guess I was wrong.

Glad to see Naruto doing so well, but I hoped Bleach would be higher.

One Piece pwns all, as per usual. Nice to see Toriko officially surpass Bleach. Bakuman doing better than Bleach is quite the surprise.

It's nice to see Nurarihyon no Mago perform solidly, the latest Jump TOCs had me worried. Good job to Reborn!, Kuroko no Basuke and Daiya no Ace too.

Combine the sales of 2-9 and you get close to the sales for One Piece. That's what you call a long lead.

Awesome to see D. Gray Man still going strong. Has always been one of my favs. And Hoshino-sensei has been through a lot the last few years, but it's seems she's still determined as ever. And, look at OP @__@. Crazy!

I was about to point that out myself. As someone currently teaching elementary school students here in Japan, One Piece is the only manga/anime they all talk about. A lot of older people like it too. The merchandise is everywhere. It is beyond huge in Japan.

And then I have to explain to them that Naruto and Bleach are more popular than it in the United States, and they all go "Naruto? Oh yeah, that."

One heck of a list to post with 50 spots... lot of work. Thanks ANN!

Surprised Blue Exorcist is #3 and I'd love to see its numbers before the anime started airing. I seem to recall reading the sales jumped like 10x after the anime started, adding 500,000+ per volume for the 7 released.... is that correct?

Mine gawt..OP's numbers are insane.... must resist psychological urge to hate undeservingly well selling things more then I should, lol.

But glad to see Blue Exorcist & Fairy Tail doing quite well, Bleach is still in the top 10, thats good. Sad Detective Conan isn't doing better, its the best on the list imo.
