It's officially Sentai season. I want to see what they *don't* license now.

The Sentai drought continues for me. Hope it does well for them.

Maybe Usagi Drop Sentai? Ya'know, the same sort of thing kinda, just more down-to-earth?

When will Sentai and CR announce their Funico-esque partnership?

Well I am glad Sentai got this. I would have hoped it would have been a BD release but oh well, at least I can purchase it once it comes out.

It probably would have released too soon to the Japanese release, like with the Sora no Otoshimono issue. The final volume is coming out in July or August in Japan, and they plan on having this out by the end of the year.

So basically it comes down to if people want a speedy release or wait an extra year and get BD. Personally, I'd go with the latter.

I just wish Sentai would put out subbed BD's, though you are right it would be too soon after the JP release to expect it.

I pray that Sentai license Usagi Drop and release it here in the U.S. I love this anime so much and I obtain it! Smile

And another notch for Sentai. I love how those guys and gals continue to strike while the iron is hot instead of waiting and delaying releases for years.

Not a bad pick up. It sounds like the type of show I could get into. One has to wonder what type of relationship Sentai and Crunchyroll now have.

Especially since they picked up a Kadokawa title (Another).
Makes one wonder if CR didn't help out with that one.

Sentai seems to only release anime of BD that they intend to dub.

There's no way in hell this is getting dubbed.

Looks like Funico has had an unintended side effect.

This is another one to add to the list. A lot of Sentai stuff this new year.

You're not the only one. I've been bringing this up a lot to Sentai lately, especially with all of these recent license announcements. The time is now to switch to Subbed Blu-ray or bust, since everything is getting a Blu-ray release in Japan now. The problem with this as other people have noted is the issue of sharing a Blu-ray region with Japan, since they don't want their titles reverse imported and interfering with the domestic market.

I really do hope they are able to evaluate the idea of a Subbed Blu-ray release for their business model soon though. There are a lot of shows I think would benefit from an HD release that don't necessarily need an English dub. Even NISA is capable of releasing subtitled only Blu-rays, but it is true that an English dub heightens a show's sales potential.

There just needs to be more people buying Blu-ray releases to show their support. I find this hard to do however, when 80% of what they announce isn't even released on Blu-ray. There were quite a few announcements lately that I would make insta-buys on Blu-ray, but on DVD... they can hit the bargain bin before I care about them. So them only releasing shows deemed "dubbable" on Blu-ray is kind of counter-intuitive to increasing the sales of Blu-rays in general.
