This could be interesting. "Eureka Seven" has long been my favorite series and it definitely has potential for a sequel, but I could also see the potential for them to screw it up with a sequel when this series has already had a conclusive ending.

At least this time it's a sequel instead of another Escalfowne'esque attempt at a retelling that butches the story and the characters like the movie was.

I've been really looking forward to this ever since it was announced. Even if this is the only new show this spring, I know that I have at least one series to watch.

I'll be curious to see how closely this relates to the original since it wrapped up pretty conclusively.

Well I hope this has 52 episodes like the first season, well it should atleast have more than 12/13 episodes.
Plus I wonder if we will see Renton or Eureka in this??

whoa, whoa, whoa, let me get this straight, Eureka 7 is getting a sequel?

oh man! this is great news! I have not seen Eureka 7 since the first Adult Swim run, but I loved it, I never, ever expected there to be a sequel, welcome back Eureka 7!

I really need to get to re-watching the series though because I'm sure there's a lot I forgot about the story

now.....how about we get a Read or Die continuation?

I'm still utterly mystified by all the story details revealed, as it makes this seem more like another alternate reality thing than a sequel.

According to this post on crunchyroll, the story takes place on earth in the year 2025.

Well, those familiar with the first series should know why that doesn't really fit in with the idea of a sequel. Yet I don't think this could be a prequel either. Regardless, they keep on referring to this as a sequel, which has me confused.

Eh? spoiler[I thought it took place far farther in the future. Originally, the people didn't even think they were on earth, and later when it was revealed there were, the implication I got was that it was the far future, given that mankind had developed spaceships and the like. In fact, one place I found online says it takes place over 10,000 years into the future]

EDIT:

In episode 33 of Eureka Seven (available both subbed and dubbed on Crunchyroll right now if you want to check), the opening spoiler[references people surfing on earth 10,000 years ago.]

In universe, the year is 2005, but it's not our 2005.

Humanity abandoned Earth 10,000+ years ago, then eventually (unknowingly) found it and re-inhabited it and restarted their calendar.

Sweet. Still have yet to watch the first series. Always wanted to, especially since Johnny Bosch is the main. But, I'll probably watch it subbed instead, because even it this eventually gets dubbed I doubt it'll be the same cast.

Yeah this looks very interesting, The first anime was awesome, but didn't have a very stellar ending in my book; but then again I don't like very many anime with bad endings.

But I am a bit confused causespoiler[ I thought they killed of both the main character and his girlfriend...] Am I correct or am I just going crazy?
