I might have missed something because I haven't watched more than the first episode of the first series and can't understand Japanese, but... uh... can anybody explain why she was lying on her back with her legs pulled back and out to present her panties like a mandrill?

Well, I think it's pretty obvious that image makes an important statement about world hunger. Guess you feel pretty silly for not picking up on that, eh?

The attacks for the nun characters revolve around making poses like that, but since they're nuns they claim that they aren't meant to be sexual.
Real answer: well, I'm sure you know the real answer why they do that.
