as usual Sentai completely baffles me with their insanely high prices...59.99 for 12 episodes of DVD. Funimation 29.99 for 12/13 episodes DVD...and 54.99 for bluray/DVD COMBO. just shows that it IS possible to sell it at those cheaper prices....

cant wait to pick up armored core 5 sometime soon..loved the demo

There's most likely more demand (non-anime fans) for DBZ Kai than Fairy Tail. I work with 4th graders and the know of and talk about DBZ Kai (and now DB GT since that's airing).

How about you compare oranges with something that's at least remotely similar, and don't use the funi's prices on long running shows just to prove your point. So from Funi you're getting extra dvd and one of their "premium item", sure that's slightly more stuff for your buck but that doesn't make Sentai's pricing "insane" by any stretch of the imagination.

Yeah. Memories came out in January. It's definitely Melodies that comes out this week. But it's easy to mix the two up given how close their names are.

Anyone in their right mind wouldn't pay that much for so little, but perhaps I'm in the wrong forum to be saying this. Rolling Eyes

Different people have different value scales; that they disagree with yours doesn't make them insane.

.

The response wasn't that rude. They had a valid point. Something like Mai can be sold at a lower price than something like ef because it has TV exposure and is likely to attract more sales. It's the same reason that Hollywood TV releases are generally less. I've picked up the first three seasons of Mad Men on bluray for under $15 a piece, but i sure dont expect that for an anime release, let alone a new one. Plus in DBZ's case, it's basically been released in its entirety before, albeit in a different cut version.

When it comes to more niche releases, the pricing between Funi and Sentai aren't that far apart an it's often easier to find Sentai's releases on sale for quite less. Most of the new Sentai blurays have been popping up on Amazon for under $35 and often stay that ways for weeks. Funi's tend to be on sale for much shorter periods of time.

Plus, I don't have much problem paying a bit more since Sentai can actually release more than one or two new titles each month. The majority of Funi's releases each month are re-re-releases. It's great of you want a cheaper release, but not if you're just waiting for them to actually release the new stuff they've already licensed.

And with this, I will finally complete my ef collection (again) until Mangagamer releases the visual novels....it's only taken you know 18+ months since the license was announced (no pun intended)

Why has there not been a review on th Battle Royale DVD/Blu-ray sets? I want to know about them! I will be buying them and want to know details. Not to mention they are highly relative this week with the Hunger Games out on Friday.

I would love to go on ANN Cast and talk about the Battle Royale movie& novel/Hunger Game books/movie with Zac and the rest . I wish I knew how to use twitter >.<
