It makes them feel special.

But seriously, this is an interesting poll. At least a far-cry from the recent boyfriend/girlfriend poll for Fate/Zero which revealed many a male voter to be a pedophile (i.e. lusting for Rin Tohsaka or Sakura Matou, who are 5-7 in the prequel series iirc).

I did find it amusing that the picture of Mio is in the article. She is quite the pretty one, though. Those five traits can also be applied to Chitanda Eru from Hyouka this season

guess I find it more amusing people find big eye a desirable trait in real life. If anything more, it is quite scary to be honest.

That's one of the most common looks an anime girl can have. I can count four or five characters just from the shows I watch this season.

I can see where a bio-sculpture device would be very popular if the nano-tech geeks can come up with one.

Imagine all the Aqua hair...

Now, I don't know exactly whether big eyes will look good in real life, but I know those eyes of Chitanda Eru have at least twice the size of real human eyes.

A fair amount of Gaijin share those male traits, besides the sharp eyes. And probably a cute smile for a lot of us.

And judging by the amount of light they reflect, I'm worried about her eyesight.

Artificially enlarged eyes via make-up can be quite scary. But, relatively large natural eyes can be cute on a girl (of course depends on the girl and facial/head structure). Doe eyes anyone?

Ahahahaha, that's too funny. Unfortunately, I've found that more Asian men meet that criteria. However, it might just be that for both American and Asian women, the grass is greener on the other side (even when it's not that green and filled with pesticides).
