While I wasn't planning to watch this at all (especially I am still mad because KyoAni picked this instead of Little Busters), the choice of staffs is awesome. I am kinda interested.

The irony of all this? This has the same staff as most of the key shows and this would of been the staff LB had if kyo ani animated it...and LB is airing this fall.

Gosh you two, stop breaking my heart! I'm so down about KyoAni not doing Little Busters and you are making it so much worse. Crying or Very sad

Anyway I'll still watch this if it gets simulcast; no matter what KyoAni makes, it's always gorgeous to look at.

I can't wait to see this sell like 3k and Little Busters sell like 20k+, just so KyoAni sees they made the wrong choice.

J.C. Staff is doing little busters I wouldn't hold my breath. Besides this group is damn good the director of air, kanon, clannad and music composer for K-on, stein's;gate we might have a decent hit our hands~

That is assuming the following happens
1) JC gives LB a freaken high budget and animation (something like the budget inuboku ss had since i know theres no way in hell WB will give it a idolmaster level budget)
2) It stays close to the VN
3) it has more then 26 episodes
But since this is JC staff and the freaken kill me baby director directing it...yeah. If kyo ani was doing LB it would be 20k no doubt but jc...hell no.

Tsukihime managed to sell 15k with JC Staff at the helm and being absolutely terrible. Brand loyalty goes a long way.

Well thats true and i heard tsukihimes anime was botched up so i guess theres hope of it sell decently but i doubt LB will sell over 10k since im sure japanese otakus will rage its not kyo ani even after it airs and even if it is a da*n good adaption (which i highly doubt given the director).

Listen I love j.c. staff and the most decent romance they have done is toradora, however little busters is not something that will not be easy to adapt nor is something that you skim on the details.Besides this makes two series I actually want to watch this year anyways.

Edit: I forgot they got the KMB director.. Idea

I fully expect it will be a disappointment, which upsets me as a big fan of the original VN. HOWEVER, quality =/= sales. Little Busters fans will buy it regardless, as proven with many other adaptions of major properties. Persona 4 was also average at best and sold over 30k.

The Key-oAni director, Ishihara, always manages to set up the correct tone, keep the pacing at a good speed, and gets strong performances out of the voice actors for maximum effectiveness of the drama. Air was a little shakey, and it was also too short, but through Kanon and the Clannads he hit the right tempo with how to bring a Key work to animation the right way that Osamu Dezaki missed in the films and Naoyuki missed in the first Kanon go-aorund. What made the KyoAni versions so successful beyond just their brand recognition was the amount of work and detail put into the scenes, and they obtain a certain look and feel. Of course those games all had similar designs and Little Busters another look, but replacing that established staff who were already in the groove won't meet with as positive results. Sure JC Staff's anime might turn out good, but it won't be on the same level.

Some seem to forget about kanon 2002 and the umineko adapt.. You can have a huge or loyal fan-base but if the show is garbage it will not sell.

Kanon 2002 still averaged nearly 10k, and this was before Key had even become the big name it is today.

And for Umineko, its a pretty niche VN even in Japan. When They Cry series has nothing on Key or Type Moon in terms of brand loyalty.

Point being, 15k is probably the minimum we can expect from Little Busters, at this point in time with the amount of popularity Key has. More is probable.
