Cool, I just got the first two volumes of Sailor Moon today, and I like it so far. I never watched the Sailor Moon anime series when I was younger (and I don't like the SM dub much, anyways), so I decided to give the manga a try (it was a little over $7 a volume on Amazon) and like it very much. I'm going to try to watch the uncut series subbed soon and I'm excited for the new series.

It still just thrills me to no end how well the manga's re-release has gone. I haven't read vol 6 yet but I'm very excited for it, since the Outers have finally arrived!

Still waiting for the success to show that someone will pick up the anime... Both the original and the upcoming one... Any day now...

Part of me is holding out hope that maybe someone will also pick it up for broadcast, but I'm not going crazy with expectation.

I thought Funimation was going to announce it at Otakon, but nope.

Somebody needs to strike while the iron is hot. People are getting hyped for the new show, this would be the perfect time to sell the old one.

During EVERY major con this year, I twiddled my thumbs and checked for license updates... it did not show up and to be honest, I'm actually surprised. It is a pricey endeavor, but the manga sales... Come on!! Anime hyper Besides, it would be a terrible idea to start releasing both the old and new all at once, or close together.

Makes me wonder if Toei is raising their price on the anime due to this and also wants the absolute "best" conditions as well, ie TV broadcasting for maximum exposure/profit.

I'm also curious how a TV Broadcast would go today, would they go about censoring it as much, and change character's genders or whatever, will Haruka and Michiru (Amara and Michelle?) still be strangely close cousins, will they license the DIC Sailor Moon theme?

So many questions.

I've kinda assumed that Nickelodeon would be willing to pick it up, along with Dragonball Z Kai, GT and what-not. And I figured a network with the ability to put it on and promote it, without whatever weird requirements [as] has for it's anime promotions would be best for it to attract a new audience on top of the previous one.

The DIC series should be burned and its ashes poured into the salty sea. not because it was that bad, (it was barely tolerable,) but because it was so butchered lame it needs to be put out of its misery.

Lesbianism would be mildly tolerated nowadays. Gays? Not so much.

UK tele is quite acceptable of homosexuality these days. There are a few characters in the soaps, and even one or two sit-coms about couples on the Beeb now as well. I mean even Elton John got a gonk from the Queen not so long ago.

Well in the USA, unless the Gay dude is playing upon established stereotypes, it'll be considered to be bashing Christian Family Values.
