A quick question about that DVD release for Flint the Time Detective - it was never completed, right? I've only barely seen a few DVD singles in random Hastings 'Used' sections before.

Enoki Films handled US distribution and broadcast rights for "Hello Kitty's Paradise" and "Flint the Time Detective", and are based in Los Angeles. Who else could Sanrio be referring to?

Looks like the released about 4 dvds, or about 16 episodes, which is far better than the 2 dvds shaman king got, and that was actually a good show.

I'd like to know how this plays out. It seems that Sanrio is taking a bit of a 'high road' suing for the relatively paltry sum of $25000+. Any American studio would've tacked on a $100000+ butt-hurt fee...

Grebouri: ADV also handled Hello Kitty at one point. And Animeigo's the current contender. It could be some sleazy unauthorized middle-man falsely acting on behalf of Sanrio.

Ah Flint the time detective, I watched that show well over a decade ago, but I thought the dvd portion of the show was cancelled and the show never aired the series finale. Not a bad show, not the greatest but there have been worse shows out there.

Neither ADV nor AnimEigo are based in LA. Enoki Films ticks all the boxes related to the lawsuit. Remember that they licenced a ton of anime including Flint the Time Detective and Hello Kitty's Paradise which they then shopped around to other companies. If the lawsuit is related to them, you have to wonder how much of their catalogue was legit.
