I'm not saying that World God Only Knows is amazing, but it definitely had a lot less face-palm moments than Cat Planet Cuties (which according to Erin is "shelf worthy"), and in fact it's a respectable effort at being a satire about shows like CPC.
Everthing from the production quality to the dialogue and characters was much more tolerable in WGOK than CPC. I'm just confused by Erin's judgement. Would he have given WGOK more favor if it had more pointless ecchi like CPC? |

Erin is female, so I kinda doubt that.
Also, galge = romance game about girls, for guys dating sim = has stats to raise in order to win the character of your choice visual novel = just a story with choices, not necessarily romance The more you know! (More relevantly, I'm interested in watching TWGOK since I read a bit of the manga. It's kinda miraculous that this got a dub.) |

Hmm, I actually enjoyed The World God Only Knows and hoping for a season III in the future. I do agree with Medaka Box though being average but hoping the upcoming season 2 this Fall will pick business up
Not a bad collection  , especially some of the Madoka, Trigun, and Monster merchandise.

I am so sorry, that was my dad's name, so I often forget that's a female name also, lol. But since that's the case, it makes it even harder to believe that Erin favored CPC over WGOK, since WGOK was exploiting shows like CPC that are usually targeted to guys with low standards for a romance anime. |

World God Only Knows did have two arcs that dragged on far too long, so I think a Rental Shelf rating is not unfair. And I say that as a fan of the show.
And there's nothing good about the first eight episodes about Medaka's Box, providing episodes four-through-five are no different from the first three. It's like an unfunny SKET Dance with worse characters. Medaka herself is an anti-feminist icon because she implies that to be successful you have to be a boringly perfect person. If the show was satire that would be one thing but it isn't. The dude is interesting but he doesn't make up for the titular character being so unappealing. Really? Thats what they went with? Anyway, the problem with KamiNomi is that even with two full cour, its just getting started. The just-finished major arc in the manga was amazing on every level. |

Not huge quantity on the shelves, but excellent quality. I have to admit to being a bit jealous of the Memories posters. Those look original and totally awesome. Great set of shelves! Every time I try to take pictures of mine I realize how crowded they are, and how dark the room they are in is. Someday, someday. In the meantime I love seeing others shelves in this column, and your shelves were full of very good things like your Ghibli films, Paranoia Agent, Paprika, Now and Then, Here and There. On TWGOK and Erin's opinion: I'm a guy, and I have played some sims and visual novels. I didn't much care for TWGOK, and personally liked "Cat Planet Cuties" better as well. It's not the eye candy, it's the story that I prefer. Honestly, thinking about it I find the protagonist to be so obnoxious that parody or not the show causes me to lose my interest, I was only able to hang onto about 3/4 of the crunchy roll stream when it came out, and would at most recommend rental as well. CPC makes me laugh, and I actually feel something for the characters, TWGOK I can't bring myself to care about any of the cast. On Medoka Box: Agreed, I lost interest after episode 3 on this show. I agree completely with Erin on Medaka Box. Shiranui and Nekomi were the only characters in the show that were entertaining and Medaka herself was incredibly dull, as were the two guys. I lost interest at episode 5 and saw no reason to continue since it wasn't going to hit the point the manga apparently "gets good" in only one cour. A second season has been announced, but I just don't care enough to sit through another 7 episodes just in case it becomes as good as people say it is.
Both TV seasons sold rather poorly. I'm pretty sure the "OVA" is an "OAD", which is a pack in with a manga volume and its purpose is to sell more manga volumes at a higher than usual price. No matter what it sells, its not likely to get us another TV season. And frankly, they'd need to make at least 50 more episodes to reach and have enough episodes to cover the really good stuff once the story kicks things up. |

sort of. she becomes a super saiyan and kicks Uzen's ass for an episode followed by an episode of the other council members in a makeshift clubroom solving a shogi mystery and medaka off screen in the hospital |
