Interesting. Seems quite a bit of classics are getting a make over. Let's see how this goes.

While it's still a shame that Imagi's 3D animated Gatchaman movie plan got aborted (or at least a tragedy for those who wanted to see the film), it's nice to hear that Gatchaman is coming back in the anime scene. Sadly, not much superhero stuff in anime has been going on lately.
Here's hoping the film gets brought over in North America just in case no company in the continent is willing to license-rescue any of the previous Gatchaman anime because that way, at least the new generation of North America-based otaku can finally be introduced to the legend that introduced the sentai genre for anime. You know, the genre to identify anime where the protagonal task force has its members wearing similar outfits but with each member having his/her own suit color code, and it's a genre describing Pretty Soldier Sailor Moon and Tokyo Mew Mew. |
