So 2 cours for Psycho Pass and Robotic;Notes, and now a cour of a rerun. I kinda feel bad for people who want Josei stuff from Noitamina, since thats 9 straight months without anything like it.

Huh. I wonder if it's because the shows that were supposed to fill Spring 2013 aren't quite ready yet?

I liked Katanagatari but I don't feel like watching it again.

And since Natsuyuki Rendezvous was pretty lacking, it's been even longer since the last good Josei from noitaminA.

We have Chihayafuru next season. Can't really complain about that *yet*

As for Katanagatari, this basically tells me they're out of ideas for NoitaminA titles or perhaps NoitaminA has lost its "unique" niche.

Well that's kinda a major bummer. We won't be seeing any new noitaminA shows next summer. That's like six months from now. Sad

Well, hopefully the rest of the spring season will be strong.

Well, its ratings have been going down and down and they've been trying to salvage it with shows that have more sales potential like Ano Hana, Guilty Crown, Black Rock Shooter, Psycho Pass, etc. I think it was kind of inevitable.

I'm actually surprised that Chihayafuru was not a noitaminA title. I mean, it's a very well-made Josei title, you would think that noitaminA would have welcomed the show with open arms.

This might also give Crunchyroll a chance to pick it up

That seems like a waste of the spring season. Katanagatari is not bad, but it does not really seem like something worth watching again. Hopefully Noitamina picks back up in the summer.

I think it's fine, honestly. It would give the series better exposure especially at one episode a week, as to oppose to like, one episode every month. Especially since the series had varying length of wait between each episode.

So, it does suck we won't get another new show for some time in that timeslot. The only hope though is that Katanagatari might not be their "swan song", essentially. But given the ratings in that timeslot...

Disappointing. I own Katanagatari so any re-run of it is less than useless to me. Would much rather something completely new was running.

This is pretty depressing news I just hope that anime productions were in a trouble so they needed to delay them to summer.

1. I loved Katanagatari, I even put it on my list of the best 5 anime I've bought in the past 3 years in Funimation's survey before I'd finished it, so pleased was I by it's first half, I can hardly think of anything bad to say about it and it gave me a lot of things that I'd been craving and not getting from my entertainment for a long time. It was also a rather nice surprise considering my lack of enthusiasm for the other anime adaptations of Nisioisin's work (haven't read any of his novels or manga BTW... actually IIRC wasn't Medaka Box based on his stuff? That might also be something I'd enjoy based on the first episode, will try and get round to it soon).

2. It's nice that they're giving it a rerun in a weekly slot rather than the erratic monthly release it originally got, and if they're going to show reruns instead of something new, at least they've picked a good show IMO.

3. All that said, they should be airing something new instead really, especially since surely it's not like it would be impossible for them to find another slot to re-air Katanagatari in if they're keen to find it more of an audience? I guess there might be circumstances outside their control, but it's reasonable for people to be disappointed, and I hope this isn't a further indication that this time slot is on it's last legs, or at least moving further and further away from what it originally was (ie. an attempt to air anime that might appeal more to women, usually josei titles, or at least an attempt to air anime that were more ambitious and less otaku-pandering).

He's the writer for Medaka Box.
