Although Sanae and Shinka only figure peripherally into the romantic developments, the relationship between the two of them also evolves in satisfyingly platonic directions, too.

Pffffffffft

Nope. No lesbians here. Really. We swear. Not a chance.

Good to see KyoAni get another winner. It's a shame you have to subscribe to the Anime Network to watch the rest of the series. Hopefully, Sentai decides to release a BD of this.

I await the day someone hires KyoAni to adapt a real yuri series. It'll give the subgenre the biggest revolutionary boost ever.

And this is why Chuunibyou is my personal best of 2012, ladies and gentlemen. Anime smile

Hopefully, this gets people to understand why they should stop worshipping SAO, and watch something with REAL DEPTH!

Enjoyed this series (as I do with almost anything done by KyoAni), but I did prefer the comedy side of it a bit more than the serious side.

Bang on, review. Definitely one of my faves from 2012 and I plan on owning the crap out of it when Sentai releases it.

Not much to add except I agree with everything Theron wrote.

Hopefully, the Sentai DVD/BD release will include the "bonus" episode and shorts.

I'm not as enthusiastic about the second half as other people. I gave it a B, due to the show not handling drama anywhere near as good as it handled comedy. However, since I graded the first half as an A-, the show overall got a B+ from me, or Very Good on ANN's ratings scale. That's pretty darn strong, so it's not like the second half ruined the show for me. I just wish the creators had stuck to their strengths.

ah... me too. really wish someone would do that one from your avatar pic...or that nana and hitomi one...or octave...or aoi hana again...when it finishes...or something else. dammit I wish that NANA mangaka would return and turn that into the yuri it deserves to be.

That pretty much echoes my reaction to the whole affair. Nothing wrong with the serious stuff, just didn't grab me as well as the comedy aspect did.

alot of people think kyoani is high quality but I have to question that

did no one else notice how much stock footage from hyouka was reused in chuunibyou? its like you could paint the characters eyes a different color and they were from the other series.

Tamako market is also looking pretty much the same.
