The manga has been on hiatus since late 2010.

In fact manga is on hiatus since 9 march 2011.

Despite the horrible anime adaptation, I'm still in eager anticipation towards any new HSotD content. It's such a guilty pleasure...

... what was horrible. I mean it was word for word, frame for frame adaption of the manga. It was literally a motion version of the manga. There were no extra scene or filler episodes (ova does not count). What did you not find to your liking.

I read the manga and the shows seemed to do it justice to say the least. Even added the police lady from the shopping mall at the very end.

According to Crunchyroll, they say there are plans to "restart" the series.

Note that "restart" and "resume" are two different meanings.

I think that's just a poor choice of words used in the Cruncyroll article.
No doubt about it, the manga will simply be resumed.
I can only see a restart if the manga simply focused on a different group of characters, and went down the route of that, but then you lose the characters that all the fans have grown to love.

Because the world really needed more of this shit. Ugh.

The only merits of this thing has going for it is the tits and titillation. And it failed at THAT.

Hm. Why was it in hiatus, anyway? Did one of the Satos get sick or something?

The most the anime did differently was reorder a few scenes in latter episodes, but it did not at all affect the story or characters and they all wound up at the same location in the end regardless. Maybe it's just some of that useless bitching over the matrix boobs. Other than that, it's a strict adaptation.

Inazuma definitely wasn't. He's been cranking out his own poor manga and his excellent doujinshi the entire time, so it must have been the writer's laziness.

Says you. I watched it for the zombies.
It's fine if you don't like it, but please, don't speak for the rest of us. I'm really excited that it's coming back.
