Pokemon is dying. It can barely beat Curious George and more often than NOT, it DOESN'T beat Curious George.

I wouldn't say its dying, but it did used to get better numbers. Maybe when the anime does Pokemon X and Y we'll get back to Diamond/Pearl type numbers.

They're currently doing the N/Plasma arc, who weren't that well received in Japan. Not really surprising if the ratings dip lower. I was hoping they'd skip it, but I guess they need something to do before X and Y come out since they already did the Isshu League. There's probably not much reason for some of the fans to watch it anymore until a new league starts. Well, that, and Best Wishes is just not as good as Diamond and Pearl was. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes (like making Rocket-dan serious villains, urg, what were they thinking) and X and Y is a more traditional series without all the 'shake ups' they tried to do but audiences didn't like.

Toriko must be killing it in the merch sales, or Bandai/Toei/Shueshia/FujiTV are being really patient with it because those ratings have been weak for a while now. Even if the merch is selling, I'd probably change timeslots, and put something else in its place. We'll probably see a point where the gap in between shares for One Piece and Toriko becomes larger than Toriko's audience share in general.
