Considering a recent article stating that he hardly sleeps, I am not surprised he needs a break. The amount of stress he is constantly under must be tremendous.

One week only, seems nothing serious and merely a bad cold then.

Hope he gets better soon, one week without one piece is pure torture

The guy gets a maximum of 3 hours sleep every night.
3 hours sleep. Every night.

I wouldnt care if One Piece went on a hiatus for a few months if it meant Oda would be okay. He's one of my favourite people on the planet and I honestly worry about how hard he pushes himself. He's certainly in no danger of ever being canceled.
I just hope this means he really will be resting for a week instead of resting a bit more than usual for week.

Any time I check new on ANN I fear to find a new as this... I don't think is anything serious since it's just a week break, but I got scared. Crying or Very sad

Please, Oda, take care of your health!

Wish Oda the best but what I don't understand (from a commercial point of view) is how this can happen when it is said OP chapters are made 3 weeks in advance? (don't remember where, think it was an interview)

For such a popular series there is not much point/reason for working last-minute/JIT (Just-in-time) and while I understand he has a very heavy workload you would think that in 10 years they made a buffer to counteract such things

Not throwing stones, just curious for the reasons to it

Get well soon, Oda!
It's really okay to have a single or two weeks break, don't force yourself too much >.<

It dosen't sound serious, but I hope he gets back to health smoothly regardless.

Maybe he was sick for so long that they run out of chapters. They never release the specifics of the illness. I serioulsy doubt mangakas conveniently avoid getting sick for anything longer than a week Razz

Oda could have been resting for two weeks now and that's enough to ruin the buffer.

I think he should be taking at least a month off. The poor guy works himself too hard.

Looks like the original comment was deleted, but not the quote. It happens sometimes.
