Actually, it's not all too novel regarding what Yen Press did with the cover. Here's the original for comparison...

I guess it seemed too much within breaking American copyright law or something-- or heck, even too confusing with all the overall overlap with video game cover designs-- so Yen Press had to have their cover art changed from an XBOX theme. There isn't even anything like a parody of an ESRB rating (no, that warning content on the bottom right corner doesn't count) or some parody publisher like you see with the original's "GURO Z" and those two names at the bottom right. At least Yen Press paid homage to the "ONLY ON ____" stamp at the top. All in all, it's somewhat understandable in regards to all the changes, but still kinda sad. Interestingly, though, with the borders being light blue now, it slightly looks more like a Wii U game. Laughing

Yeah I instantly noticed the change too. It's one of the few things that irks me but I know it can't be helped with basically anything that gets localized regarding anime, games, manga, etc. Personally I think the original cover design is more true to giving you a clever insight into what the manga will be about, and relates well to its themes (which is about a twisted kill or be killed survival game based on a online game)

Yeah, considering those kinds of games are played on the Xbox. Laughing

Original is best, everyone asking me why I brought an DBox game to lunch, too funny! Actually I was a bit disappointed that the import BDs don't look like XBOX game boxes, thought that would have been perfect.

Now, translation going to be censored I wonder!?

Yen Press doesn't censor its manga.

They published Sundome uncensored, so that should tell you something.
