I don't see how yaoi/yuri fans can feel underserved when they get the Question of the Week twice!

Personally, Answerman...you should have just answered the Digimon question yourself. I find Digimon Otis' answer completely insulting and degrading to the fans of the show and without the show, the games wouldn't have existed in the first place. So I advise you never to contact him again, for his answer is unprofessional and insults the fans of the TV show every chance he gets. He says nothing that you could have already answered and knew yourself, if people buy more, we get more, simple answer. It could have done away with all the insults.

And if he was using sarcasm, it doesn't really play well on the internet. Regardless if it was or wasn't, a blog that allows to insult the person who asked a question, when it states right there in the rules, "Do not be unnecessarily rude or use a lot of foul language", why should the person who asked the question be answered with an unnecessarily rude answer? |

I am pretty sure it is production committees fault,they scheduled this anime to air on spring,which we now see was idiotic move to do .There are a lot stills used in those training episodes that are not visually ambitious.And the reason why there are some many of animation directors is not due to the ambitiousness,but because they really need more people to help them animate this stuff. |

Blog, answer sheet, whatever you want to call it. And regardless as if they're forum rules for the people here, I feel the staff should also follow their own rules. It's also common curtsey to treat others as they treated you, considering the staff here are being paid for their input and knowledge, I'd say it's only right. Oh, satire, huh? Sure doesn't seem like that to me, considering he only rambles about liking the games and his entire twitter posts do the same. And as I said before, regardless of sarcasm or satire or whatever, it's unnecessarily rude regardless. Personally, asking GodofChaos from With The Will would have had a more appropriate response. As a Digimon fan for over 10 years, I never heard of someone named DigimonOtis in the Digimon community, so his input is also invalid. |

Moving on from the entirely disposable satire (sorry, it's really not that funny), the Attack on Titan / anime production answer was dead on. This kind of thing has been with us for decades and even established classics like Space Battleship Yamato would have hectic production schedules and rough patches where the expression "finishing at the last minute" was very, very close to the actual reality. Today with current series, we see a lot of situations where things are touched up for the home video release.
And yeah, it seems like quite a show regardless. I need to start that one. |

Haha, that Digimon Otis answer... I was thoroughly confused. That was probably the worst sarcasm I have ever seen
 (or is it just cause sarcasm doesn't translate well in text form?)
Anyways, yes I think that was a pretty obvious answer. They made DVDs for the first couple season, if those don't sell well, of course they won't continue to the next seasons. So buy the ones that have already been released if we want a chance. Ooh, I didn't know Anime Sols was up, I will have to check that out. |

I found DigimonOtis' answer amusing, it reminded me of the first time years ago when I realized that the Angry Video Game Nerd was just putting on an act. =p It took a while to figure out, but when I did, I LOL'd.
Anyways, it wasn't until episode 5 of Attack on Titan that I really started noticing the production issues. Inconsistencies with the line work, combined with off-model renderings of the characters, really started to stand out like a sore thumb (Zac had mentioned having problems with the art in a recent podcast, and I think I'm starting to see what he might have meant). That said, despite some of the cliche shonen leanings of episodes 3 and 4, I absolutely loved the ballsy ending of episode 5. It's great to see a show about teenagers where a truly seriously threat overrides a lot of the annoying tropes that are usually a part of these coming-of-age sorts of stories (like fashion, relationships, pulling off cool/melodramatic scenes, stuff like that). The titans don't care if you look cool, or if you want to avenge someone, or if you're in love, or even if you're an important character. They want to eat you, and they're very good at it.

Art style, did they mean just some thick line art for slightly adapted manga designs? There's nothing special in Shingeki's art that I can see, the only special qualities come from the Spiderman camera movements coupled with the explosive animation necessary to convey fast movement between buildings. Take that away and it becomes a really uninteresting series visually apart from the freaky skinless giants. I don't think its undertaking is more visually ambitious than say, Valverave or Gargantia. It's an "up there" show, but its strength for me comes from the intrigue and world setting, not really its budget or animation. |

Yeah, studios do rush to get these episodes out even with errors in them. Seems to be worse with the shows that air the whole year. One of the ones I can remember that had a ton of animation errors was with Xebec's version of Negima. It had characters missing mouths, with hands w/ 6 fingers among other things. Funimation actually said at the time they would wait for the DVD with the corrected animation before releasing it. |

While not my favorite episode, Mellow Maromi from Paranoia Agent was a bit insightful about the animation industry in Japan. Even for a show aimed at children, the stress, time, and people that it takes just to finish one episode let alone a series made me appreciate it more. Now, hopefully, unlike that episode, people don't spoiler[start offing each other] whenever they get close to deadlines.
Knowing that, the stills used in AOT are odd and stagnant against the 'flashy' action scenes but, if it saves time or whatever, then I can live with it. For Anime Sols, I already contributed to Creamy Mami since, honestly, that's the only series I want to own. I used my tumblr, Facebook, and Twitter to spread the message but, I feel slightly discouraged. 2 months to reach $19,000? It would take a lot of old school fans to support the first boxset; I would be disappointed if this site fails so early on.
