Thank god Conan keeps on going strong in Japan - while I wish Gosho would just hurry up and plan and execute the ending, there is no denying that I find just about everything Conan related really enjoyable to watch. Hope there is a sort of "condensed" version of the anime made sometime after the series stops airing though - the Black Organization and main story could easily make for an incredible and gripping 26 or 52 episode show, but somehow Gosho has manged to keep this behemoth going since 1994.

The consistency of the Conan, Doraemon and Pokemon franchises in the japanese movie theaters is pretty amazing. Year after year, they all gross around the same numbers.

This is sort of saying a lot, considering Japan's current problem with deflation. I'd like to see what this number would be when adjusted to 2009 yen.
