Heck, even with my mild trepidations about the CG animation, I would be lying if I didn't admit to being super-excited about this. More Harlock in any form is a welcome sight. Can't wait!

That was an awesome watch. Can't freaking wait!

Since we probably won't get it in theaters (or if so very limited ones), hopefully this makes it over here with a nice Blu-ray.

The CG in this clip was better than I was expecting from a Japanese CG production (After Appleseed and SST:Invasion I've lowered my expectations). That said, I wasn't really "wowed" by it.

Perhaps it was due to the streaming/compression (though I doubt it) but the animation during panning shots seemed rather jerky and the rotation of the ceiling fans seemed off, as though it were missing frames. I notice this often in Japanese productions. Does this result from the Japanese skipping unique frames as an animation shortcut? Is it because a measly 24 FPS is insufficient to maintain the illusion of fluid motion in such situations?

Can we get 48+ FPS with no animation shortcuts involving skipping unique frames already?

Coooooool.

Is it weird that I'm disappointed that Harlock's crew are designed more humanoid, rather then their traditional 'bean people' look?

Square Enix has done impressive animation, which this resembles. About the rotating fans, those are a low priority in the production, what matters most and gets the most attention are the story, acting( voice and animation), and the action scenes; so dont sweat the small stuff. Also doubling the amount of frames would be extremely costly in both time and money.

Not usually a fan of this type of animation but since the trailer and now this footage I'm still really looking forward to seeing this.

I have been anxiously anticipating this movie for a while now, and am extremely pleased to hear about the dub. A great dub could really catapult this film to the next level internationally. The source material is enough to get me excited, but I'm not familiar with Harutoshi Fukui's work. Anyone have an opinion on his talents as a writer?

I hate CGI but I admit this looks just as bad as Mars needs a Mom or whatever the title was Twisted Evil .

Seriously, Minowa should make character designs for the next Vampire Hunter movie instead of wasting his and our time with this videogame cutscene.

Twisted Evil

If I may ask, is this pre-lay or not? CG with improper lip sync looks odd, even if it's anime. I know Advent Children was CG and was pre-lay.
