I'm not a big fan of Gainax but I'm definitely looking forward to this. Guess have to wait for BDs though...after film debuts.

Hopefully the pilot film is successful, would love to see what these two make collaborating again like this, needs to happen.

I've been hearing about this since my early days as an anime fan in the late 80s and early 90s. For us old time fans, this has been a long time coming.

thats one of the issues with this project, they dont have alot of their original team, sure gainax had alot of people coming and going in the 90's but they still had much of their core peeps... but I dont believe anno will be coming back to head this project, it feels a bit problematic.
another issue is the technology, the first movie by any standard in animation is a masterpiece on par with akira, too much 3D will ruin the movie, or in this case pilot, what it has to be is a 2d work of art as much as possible.

Wow, Gainax maybe getting back into the game making serious and good anime films again? Wow. I hope the film comes out as well as the promotional poster they just showed.
