Sorry but I'm not sure that the News is accurate...

This is not the old series : Mysterious Cities of Gold done with Studio Pierrot but the new one... Studio Pierrot has nothing to do with it because even if they wanted to work on this new series, the french studio didn't want their help... And they've asked a Chinese Studio instead.

This is a lane 3D Cell-shade "fantasy for 5 years old" version of what was the original series. And the game is based mostly on that.

So don't fall into that trap : if you really liked the old series, just look at the new one and it's dull animation, the complete change in behavior for each character, and this villain who look like Darth Vader with a hoodies... and it's politically correct, "small children friendly" type of storyline...

they are only trying to make easy money with our nostalgia... -_-

Yes it is very disappointing it is very much like all those American-only versions of shows like Voltron and Speed Racer that aired on Nick... they are aimed at nostalgia but are very westernized and kiddy.

Well that's one of the series of my youth that push me into animation Business... What pain me the most is : almost 30 years after the original series, with all the experience, the might of really talented people in animation ( both in France and Japan ) and the powerfull tools we now have...

We're asked to do something not even as good as the original, just because it's cheaper that way.

And the Game is no exeption... Why Crowfunding something like this ?? Shocked

This is nothing more than a cheap Smartphone game put on a Wii U and PC...

Sorry but I rather play to FF XIV Reborn on my PC than this. Razz

And again : the japanese Studio Pierrot have nothing to do with any of that.

I'd prefer to see a Kickstarter for the original series on BD, with Japanese dub included.

I got my hopes up, then they was crushed. I remember watching the original series back in the 80s, it was really good.

Well a Kickstarter on BD release would be nice but there is a lot of technical problems with the old serie.

For example : the audio part is all gone. Either they've lost part of it or they lost the Copyright on it... Sad

A few years ago, they released an Audio CD... It was a nightmare : most of the music were directly ripped of the anime itself ! No audio master ! Poorly cleaned anime audio track with from time to time some background noise.

So for the BD it would be no good... Confused
