Really surprised that Aksys is going to release the PS3 game - this franchise must be doing REALLY well for them considering how many of these games they've brought over.

Also, dat picture stretching.

Surprised me today! Oh gawd! ; n; Aksys, bless you!
If only I have the money to buy this though...ugh ; A; But I'm crossing my fingers!
If they keep doing this, I'm gonna be so happy if they plan on localizing the newest high school themed one that's going to come out soon (or has it come out already? Not sure...)

Is this the first console visual novel in the states? I mean i know we've gotten psn re releases of ps1 visual novels(Untranslated) and phoenix wright on WiiWare but is this the first actual physical disc release translated visual novel to hit console in America?

I don't really know . I would say Agarest War to an extent would classify as one. Sakura Wars maybe as well.

Yeah sorry about that. ANN's new layout, which is what we use now when writing articles, automatically resizes images, so I don't notice when previewing the article that I hadn't resized the image for those still using the old layout >.>

It's fixed now though, thanks for pointing it out!

I wouldn't really count those two. They're basically half visual novel, but they're also half strategy game. Hakuoki is definitely the first 100% visual novel to get a physical console release in the US.

Well, they've only really released two. The 3DS, and PS3 games are ports of the first PSP game with additional content.

No problem and no need to apologize, it was good news and I'm glad it was posted. First I've heard of it so far.

That being said, I'll buy it. I got the 3DS release a few weeks ago and will look forward to this as well.

So....The Baldr series aren't full VNs?
Yumina The Ethereal's not a full VN?
Kishin Hishou Demonbane's not a full VN?

You do realize VNs can have gameplay, right?

All of the games you mentioned however are PC only in the west. This is the first VN to get a physical HOME CONSOLE release (if you don't include handhelds).

Who cares about it being the first or not, I'm still very happy it is finally coming to ps3, just when I thought the console will be kinda neglected due to ps4 release

I admit, I may just double-dip on this. Thanks, Aksys! Very Happy
I also keep forgetting that Warriors of the Shinsengumi was a thing, lol.
