They are doing public beta testing now at different locations and changing game mechanics based on feedback:

Okay, until Street Fighter V is announced, I won't be buying them. It's ridiculous that I buy SF IV, then an update is released, then another, then another, then another and I'd have to buy each one over and over.

Yes, getting more content is a BAD thing. Fighting games getting updated yearly is hardly new. It keeps the competitive scene interesting. And the updates are rarely as expensive as the original release. Its like 20 bucks tops. Its a better value then if Capcom just slapped Street Fighter V on the cover and sold it as a new game.

Its only a $15 upgrade. Gosh its not just a stat update.

How dare they keep updating and adding to a competitive and extremely relevant game.

If you don't care about it, just don't buy the updates. It's as simple as that. They aren't forcing you to buy it.

At least with DLC you don't have to pay full retail price for an update. Plus, it helps to keep up interest in the game for a longer time-span, instead of having to constantly switch over to newer entries in the series. There's nothing wrong with new content, and you really only have to get it if you're into the competitive scene, and most of those guys aren't complaining, they're excited that new life is getting breathed into the game.

I only just got SSFIV: Arcade Edition earlier this year, so I'm kinda split on whether I should trade it in and buy the disc version since it'll include all the DLC that I don't have like the extra costumes. Oh well, plenty of time to think it over in the meanwhile.
