Whoa, that's a lot of volumes. This is the first time I've heard about the LN actually but seems interesting enough with the premise. I can't wait to see how the anime will be like though.

Combining the biggest obsessions in Japan: cute anime girls, and trains! It's about time we got another train anime, Tetsuko no Tabi wasn't gonna hold me over.

Based on the covers, you're sure that's not Fanservice Wars?

Communists!!! Laughing

Obviously, the "RJ" is the JR Group:

  • The Japan Railways Group, more commonly known as JR Group (JRグループ Jeiāru Gurūpu?), consists of seven for-profit companies that took over most of the assets and operations of the government-owned Japanese National Railways on April 1, 1987. Most of the liability of the JNR was assumed by the JNR Settlement Corporation.

The JR Group lies at the heart of Japan's railway network, operating a large proportion of intercity rail service (including the Shinkansen high-speed rail lines) and commuter rail service. A strong distinction is still made between JR and other private railway companies; for instance, the two are generally denoted differently on maps.

Trains, eh? I think this is where I started on my Geek / Otaku journey. We will have to see how this one plays out.

Those are actually quite tame, as far as LN covers go.

The "dream railway paradise entertainment" story is set in a parallel world where Japan did not privatize its national railways. Naohito Takayama is an ordinary high school boy who dreams of a comfortable future working for the top-rated Japanese National Railways. He is assigned as a trainee in the Railways Security Force full of odd characters such as Sakurai, a troublemaker who hates men. On top of that, an extremist group called "RJ" plots to privatize the Japanese National Railways.

... so it's Working! meets Die Hard on a train?

Working on a train meets Die Hard. I don't know; A movie, I've heard of worse, as a series, how many train related villains can a series come up with?

"No ticket!"
One?

Oh, the criss cross crossing incident, "such and such is on a runaway train!" and the absolutely obvious "There's a bomb on this train" or Speed on train which technically was a subway in the movie so it doesn't count...

Since this is a fantasy series, I don't know if I should be thinking transit authority or more super hero/secret agent.

"I carry a badge, I ride the train, I am ... Train Man!"

Speaking of Train Man, why didn't they do an anime of that? Of course, not ludicrous enough...

Just, well, I can't scratch my head hard enough to figure this one out. Plus, a message against privatization ... or for privatization ... or used because they couldn't come up with a better nefarious enemy organization, apart from the government. Probably the last one.

Haha.

Had never heard of this before, sounds good depending upon what kind of series it is story wise.

The girl on the cover is indeed cute.

Curious about this too.

Die Hard Lite with Library Wars mixed with a bit of You're Under Arrest?

There was a bit of a YUA (or other shows kind of like it) feel with some of the action shots.
