Does this apply only to anime?. What happened to DMP's deal with Tezuka manga?

I think more like Astro Boy dolls myself, but that's just my opinion on this.

I'd love to see more of Hidamari no Ki become available with subtitles. This story portrays the life of Tezuka's ancestors who tried to introduce Western medical techniques into Japan and ended up in a conflict with the Shogun's official medical staff. I thought the three fansubbed episodes were fascinating.
