Well, this is surreal and awesome. Ikuhara got one of the more prominent yuri manga-ka to do a manga adaptation of his work. It like a match made in heaven.

I take it you don't know anything about Akiko Morishima. Her characters might look moe, but they don't lack depth. They look like that because she likes that sort of design, but her works have never targeted the otaku as far as I know. She began her career drawing 4koma for a lesbian-oriented magazine, then she did some josei manga and general-oriented 4koma. Now she draws mostly yuri for Ichijinsha's Yurihime magazine, and her characters are of the most true to life in the whole magazine.
There's nothing misogynistic about Morishima Akiko, and I think she's a really good match for Ikuhara.

Is it me or is 2014 the year of the yuri genre? We are getting so many yurilicious stuff lately. Definitely looking forward to watch and read Kuma Arashi.

So Akiko Morishima is being helmed to do the work. Awesome. Funny I was just talking about this to a co-worker and so it's still a go. Well, be curious to see what he comes up with this time. Lots of fans will debate whether his stuff is truly intellectual or just the norm. But glad to see Morishima getting some attention.

It does seem that way, does it? (which means next year 2015 will undoubtedly suck ass  ).

I'm so happy I'm going to do 100 backflips in joy!!! I love Ikuhara so much, and I'm stoked to see him working with Morishima! Her yuri manga is so perfectly precious, her girls look so squeezable and cute! Can't wait to see what kind of wild ride these two have in store for us!!

This is the first time that name has appeared anywhere, so it most likely is.

It's possible it's a pen name for Ikuhara or a mash-up of names for those involved in the project. He previously used "Ikunichawder" for Penguindrum.

Now that you mention, I've noticed "Makinako Ikunigo" which could be referring to Kinako, the original character designer who also did Gatchman Crowds. Ooooo, the mysteries continues!

not all moe, which is mostly an art style, is aimed at men, nor all moe is mysonigistic i.e, Madoka.Shoujo has been moe before moe existed, and yuri has lately gone to those stylistics.
Is not the style that makes it bad, is the context. Death Note has zero Moe looking character, but is one of the most misogynistic series in modern anime so...

Oh I know the artist; I read some of her work prior to jmanga's shut down and also her contribution to the fabulous anthology collection of penguindrum. The issue I hold is mostly in the presentation of the cover art, which bears visual attributes of fetishistic scopohilia that's inherent in sexualised moe I.e. non-threatening girls in moe fetishistic outfits (one girl with a phallic gun and another with a serious wedgie right there) being presented in a playful ignorant manner that makes them seem unaware of their own fetishisation.
This is what's leading me to believe its the misognyistic kind of moe. Ofcourse i could be completly wrong and this manga could bear a message in regards to female/male gaze (its called lesbian bear storm for a reason) but at this current point I'm a still teeny bit nervous, and if anything, more excited to see this project come out and see what it has to say.
